Free hp

I've heard several different tricks and tips that can give dyno proven hp free or very inexpensive. Just trying to get everyone that has heard any of these tips to list them along with if it worked for them and improvements they got.

None. HP costs money. Plain and simple. How about listing a few of the ones you've heard...

For one I've seen were they have supposedly got dyno proven hp from bypassing throttle body coolant and it supposedly keeps air temps down. I understand hp cost money I Just kno there is minor tweaks u can do for small improvements I just wanted to see if anyone else chimed in with any I haven't heard of.

Matching ports/gasket matching is always good for something. If you have a dremel tool and $10 to spend on new intake gaskets you could increase your flow. Of course you could open your heads up as well.

The old 5.0s had ways of tuning that gave 10-15 more hp. Simple things like ajusting the timing, air silencer removal, amungst other things. I read an article with the details, but that has been about 10 years ago.

There aren't many free hp tricks for those stangs. The good thing is that there are a ton of used performance parts out there. Not free but a lot cheaper.

I apologize man. I thought you had a 4.6.
Lots of really cheap tricks you can do to those and even more really cheap used performance parts. I wouldn't do a whole lot of little things to that model though. Save up for heads, intake, and cam. Those things need aftermarket heads. Just save up, be patient, and build it right. eBay is a great place for 302 performance parts.

I hear ya. Looks like a pretty clean ride you have. So just be patient, save up here and there a little at a time. Heads are gonna wake it up and are the most expensive item you will buy for it probably. Being patient will pay off in the end. If you start off with smaller and cheaper mods, you will end up buying them again later because they don't match up to later mods. I would shop for headers and H-pipe first. Lots of used ones out there for cheap. Aftermarket intake or heads next. Buy a used intake because they can't wear out so there are no worries about problems. As long as its not cracked. Just let us know what you are considering when you find something. Lots of really good advice on this site.

Yea thanks for all the tips, yea I'm thinking headers and intake, heads is my first big things when I can. I just want a daily driver that can run somewhere around 8.50's on street tires so that when I'm cruising town I can walk all over most of the camaro's in my town which most of my town is mustangs. you run your car at the track?
