Found another 98 Cobra

Ok I have been debating for the past year or so on a 96-98 Cobra. This past winter I was ready to buy a low mile 98 cobra Convertible and then the owners backed out on the last minute. Now I've spotted another car that has caught my eye. I would like the opinions of the people here on how much I should pay for this car.

Black/ Tan leather 98' Cobra Coupe 46,000mi

no modifications at all, the car looks like it has always been garaged the paint, wheels and interior are flawless. The dealer is asking $12,000 for it and I'm considering trading my 97 GT for the down payment. Is $12,000 too much? Any problem areas to look out for while buying a 96-98 Cobra Thanks in advance...

$12000 seems a bit high for a 98 but maybe not with such low mileage and in the condition you speak of.

After thinking a bit i think that sounds like a good buy if you are happy with the color combo.

Wow, great find Knight! To be honest i'd rather have a 96-98 Cobra because of the different body style (I already have an 03' Cobra) but looking at this car, being a drop top and newer means I have some leverage while possibly negotiating a deal or maybe even look around for a drop top and my favorite color combo (yellow/black). Thanks again Knight you are always very helpful.

Cool

Agree the asking may be a bit high, but like you I have a 'thing' for the 96-98 Cobra and would love to add one to my line up as well.

I now found a white 98' Cobra drop top with about 85k on it. I still have not seen the car in person but for $9000 its worth taking a look at, I think the black coupe is gonna sit on the lot for a lil while longer anyway.

I'd pay 12k for a low mileage 98 before i'd pay 9000 for one with twice the miles.

I understand, but the other one is a drop top. Either way i'm holding out for a better color combo unless I can get one of these at a real low price.

the drop top is White/black top and interior
the coupe is Black/ tan interior.

The only things keeping me from pulling the trigger on the coupe is I have never owned a drop top (i've owned 4 stangs in my life) and i'm not to crazy about tan interior.

I have found most of them while not even looking for them. The black 98' is at a small mom and pop car dealership next to the liquor store I buy from and the drop top was found on autotrader. I guy who lives down the street from me had a 97 drop top that he was going to sell me but backed out last min. If you want a low mile Cobra they are out there you just need to be patient and you will find them.

I also think part of the reason why I been finding so many low mile prestine Cobras is because I live in New England. Many Mustang owners, including most Cobra owners garage there cars during the winter, and crummy days so many of these rides don't see daily use.
