Ford Racing Lowering springs
ok i was going to go with the ford racing lowering springs on my 1995 GT and they have i think 7 different types an A to G all for 94-04 and they all have to do with weight. and i was wondering if anyone could help me with which one i should order.
C Springs seem to be about the most popular. Stiffer up front, and about the same as stock out back.
IIRC, the rates for the C springs are 650/200-300 (front/back). Compared to a stock GT's suspension of 400/210. Also, I understand the Terminator Cobras come with 600 all around...
I've got the C-springs on my GT, and they're pretty good. Gives it a subtle drop, can still clear speed bumps and such
, and handles a little better vs. stock. The car doesn't lean as hard in turns anymore, can take them a little quicker.
Price is decent too...paid $129 shipped from GEFRacing.com.

Be careful, and keep a lookout for any funny noises coming
from under the car. The '94 and '95s had issues with the
drive shaft not having adequate clearance in the tunnel
after being lowered. There is potential for the drive shaft
to rub the parking break cables, and when it finally gets them
worn down enough it will start on the bracket that the cables
attach to. We were able to fix the problem by bending the
bracket up closer to the underside of the tunnel and tack welding
it in place. Unfortunetly this was after the bracket had begun
tearing a hole in the underside of my car.

Still, good info and something to watch!

The hood is a H.O. Fibertrends 2.5" Cobra R. (They're the same people that made the production hoods on the '95 Cobra R and the '00 Cobra R) And to be honest, it's been awhile since I bought it and I don't recall the price. I bought it from Paul at www.svpu.com. He's a moderator here.
As far as rubbing, are you talking about with the emergency brake cable?? I don't have that with my "c" springs. I've only heard of that problem with other companies springs which lower the car more than the "c" springs do. Like Eibach pro's etc. The only problem I have is hitting the bump stops on the rear end when I hit bumps. But I'll be solving that soon by shaving the bump stops a little.
