Yes, its body side moulding to protect your door if someone opens thier door against yours, also I think all canada cars come standard with this.

Yes the "door guard" is an option up here in Canada and I belive it is a fleet option down in the U.S.

You don't see to many on a Mustang ...it really doesn't do much for the body line .

Fleet (rental) cars had it. No one buying their car from a dealer new would put that on.

Yes those are fleet only. Always a good way to tell where the car came from. If it had those then it was in a corporate fleet or more than likely an ex rental car...
I like the idea of them protecting the door, but do not particually like the looks of them.

i see v6's with them all the time. it wouldn't surprise me if it were a dealer installed option though, along with fleet.

I also think they are a fleet option. I see them on a lot of rental cars but very rarely any personal vehicles.

The only time you are going to see those on someone's personal vehicle is if it a formal rental. A lot of dealers buy them from the rental companies or they end up at auction. that is about the only way you are going to find a used 1-2 year old vehicle on a lot. Most people can not afford to trade that often...

Okay. That's what I figured. My dad bought a 98 Mystique that used to be fleet car that was sold back to the dealer. He got it in 2000 with only 7500 miles on it. We had it checked out and amazingly it was in great shaped. Usually fleet cars are beat.

There are definately good ones and bad ones...The dealer I worked for would put most of the ones that he bought at auction through the Certified Pre-Owned program. That got them a pretty extensive inspection and anything needing to be replaced was. The certified ones also could not have been in an accident in order to qualify. I would not ba afraid to buy one of those, especially since they come with a nice warranty, but just an ex rental or fleet car...you just never know.

That's a joke, right?

Ditto on the Canadian Option and Fleet Option. And if you really wanted them I am sure you could pick them up from the Ford Parts bin or an aftermarket company. Ditto again on the hit or miss with rental cars, which is why Carfax is so great.
