Exhaust System
I'll be slapping on a borla exhaust system in the next few months, also will be doing headers and midpipes, and I know this question has been talked about to DEATH but I have to ask again... I know I want borla, b/c I've heard it and is has the best sound/perf. ratio I've heard/seen. So, what midpipe and header best suites the borla exhaust? I know if I could find the borla midpipe it'd be great to have with the cat-back but that is way too expensive to get on ebay. I'm leaning towards JBA cermic-coated headers, or maybe BBK, but I'm not sure which complements the borla system the best.
Has anyone done this setup yet, or a simalar setup?

www.mustangexhaust.com has sound/video clips.
On that site there are some people that love the Bassani midpipe with the borla exhaust....of course I don't remember what headers they had.

I am a huge magnaflow fan as most of you know. I think their catted X-pipe is one of the nicest exhaust pieces I have ever seen. It would work very well with a borla catback in my opinion.

Whats the performance/sound differences b/t magna and borla? (if any) b/c magnas are about $300 cheaper to buy from magnaflow themselves, that way I wouldn't have to go to ebay or another crappy online store... unless I could find a place that sells borla for under $650
Well, I just found the borla exhaust I want for under $600 at www.ninosport.com so that does it, I'm getting it when I get the ok from the wife... which will probably be this comming summer/fall...
now just to fidn the headers and midpipe i want... i'm leaning more towards BBK since they make the off-road xpipe and the shorty headers i want.
I would get the longtube but they are way too expensive...

I personally wouldnt go with a BBK X-pipe. Their X isnt a true X like you see with the bassani and magnaflow. I would go with one of those if you could, or find a Dr. Gas X-pipe as they are one of the best.
I'll probably be spending close to 3k on mods, so I want to redo the entire exhaust, intake, and pully system. I can do the pully and intake work myself, but I'd need the exhaust done at a shop...
There's one close to here that will do the headers for 120 each, then do the rest of the exhaust work for 300... so a total of 540 just for the install... Alittle pricey though, so I'm still looking around for that. Intake system is fairly easy b/c I've done it in a 96 saturn sc2. It's atlittle different though, since the saturn had a more compact engine bay than the stang...

a CAI is easy.
If they will do the headers for 240, thats not all that bad. I know to put LT's on a 4v, most shops here charge $600 at the minimum.

I asked if it was for Shorties or LTs and they said both. I guess it's because it's a local shop, not RipoffStone (Firestone).
DUmb question, I know, but what's a CAI?

Yep! twas a dumb question!
I'm getting one of those as well, along with a throttle body and I'd like to find a spacer, but I doubt I will. I'll probably just have to settle with a Phelem (however it's spelled). I think ill need a tune after all this work... maybe i could get a deal on gears and a tune... like 250 rfor both.. that'd be sweet!

after having just fitted a set of equal length shorties to a 94 Im tellin ya pay the money!!!!!lol if id had known they were going to be such a pain to do i would have sent the to the shop as well, to be honest though the exhaust install is pretty simple andonly takes a couple of hours just using hand tools and axle stands

is there any way to do it without welding... I know it'd be a better connection welding it but I wouldn't want to mess up anything... or weld a hole in the gas tank...

Especially since you'll be a vulnerable position being upside down, and having sparks fall down towards your face(even with goggles).
It'd probably be easier to just saw off all crap ill be trashing, then just jack up the car and bolt everything i need to on. This'd probably take at least a full day, more than likely 2 full days...
I might just do it myself once I get the ok to buy everything i need... With everything off, would I still have to remove the engine or could I just reach it from underthe car? I'd like to do it all myself and save over $1000. Plus I'd love to do my own work...
