Exhaust for PI swapped 4.6.

So i have a 96 gt with intake plenum, throttle body, cai and flowmaster mufflers. I just recently picked up a set of pi heads and cams. I plan on doing the swap soon. My question is when im looking for headers which years mustang should i be looking for. Is it a difference in the head or in the engine compartment that differentiates between 96-98 and 99-04. Any help would be apperciated. Also what about xpipes.

How about aftermarket longtubes with short x pipe. I'm concerned about tube and collector fitment.

The undersides of the car from 94 to 04 are virtually identical. So any for those years should fit.

Thanks for the insight. I value your opinion. Maybe if anyone else has anything to add that would be awesome.

No but I have a complete 4.6 with 200+ miles on it from a 94 cougar that I'm going to tear down first before I dig into mine. just to get a feel. EMISSIONS!!! come on man this is the motor city capital of the world. He** no there's no emissions. Only noise ordinance.

if you don't have a manual you should get one. Are you getting a timing chain set or using what is on the car now?

I have a Haynes manual. And I plan on using the original timing set.
