Exhaust.

What exhaust combos sound the best on '04 GTs.? Im looking for something that is loud enough to hear a growl inside the car when Im cruising, and absolutely roar when I get wide open. Any suggestions.?

See, this is what I was thinking from the beginning.
But, I'm not sure what headers to run. I heard that the 2Vs like
LTs.

Borla and Bassani is money that I do not have. I can get Flowmaster, Pypes, Magnaflow, MAC, and SLP no problem. But I have heard too much about Borla and Bassani not being worth their price tags

The Stingers were worth their price to me. Good luck with your decision.

Should the headers be longtube or shorty. I have heard that 2Vs love LTs

I suggest you go to mustangexhaust.com it has sound clips of all the exhausts you can get on a mustang I personally like my car to have a nice sound but not overly loud.

I have a 1997 GT with a Borla exhaust, has a nice sound at idle, loud when you get on it and has a muted sound at cruising speeds.

I have a 2003 Cobra with a Bassani Exhaust, similar to the Borla but a little quieter at first. Since it has gotten more miles on it, it has gotten much louder but still reasonable at cruising speeds.

If you want something that roars, go borla, magnapacks or lm1/2 depending how loud you really want to go.

I've got magnaflow 40's and a O/R H pipe, I get complimented on the exhaust note all the time. It's loud without being ridiculous.

Magnaflow 40s? You mean flowmaster 40s? Lol. I'm personally a fan of the o/r h instead of x. Love the sound of h!

Ive heard that an X pipe sounds better on Cobras and Machs, and an H pipe sounds better on the GTs. Is this true to a degree.?
