Which engines will fit into a 2000 model gt?

To answer the actual question. If you want a direct replacement you are going to want a Windsor 4.6 with PI heads/cams. I'm not sure that it matters what you source it out of as long as you swap on your timing chain cover. The Romeo was used in later years(01-04), and I do not know how they differ. They might just drop in too.

 

You also want to try to keep Romeo parts with Romeo and Windsor parts with Windsor easy to to put it together Romeo was also used in the 97-98 gt as well Windsor PI heads heads have more valve cover bolt holes I believe 13 and Romeo PI heads have like 11 bolt valve covers.

 

We know a 5.4 DOHC will "fit", however. Think Cobra R. Lots to do though, to make it run.
