i have just perchased an 01 gt conv. i am looking to lose my cats. my questions is if i lose my cats and get the MIL eliminator will i fail an emissions test? i live in saint louis and their test is very tough but on an obdII system they just plug up a scanner and test it. they never actually even test the exhaust. is anyone out their from saint louis who has done this? does their test only check for an MIL or will it test anything else? any help would be great. thanks!!!! :worship:

I would have to say yes you prob would fail. It really depends on what that contraption they're plugging into your car is looking for on your computer. If you do pass, whats your excuse if they look under the car and see no cats?

"I'm modifying the car to also be a submarine, and the cats let in water"

More than likely they will put a mirror underneath to make sure it has cats. They have tough tests here as well. My co-worker thought he'd fool them...well he did until the did the visual inspection. Friggin buses and semi's can blow black smoke and crap all over the place but yet they worry about our lil ole cars. Simply ridiculous!
