Did you do any wire cutting/splicing when you were doing the radio work. if you did, its possible that you may have exposed a bare wire and there's a short somewhere. or you could have cut or disconnected a wire somewhere in the area. the factory radio display dims when you turn the headlights on, as does the dash display. its possible that this common connection was damaged somewhere in the system. good luck, and hopefully someone can give you more specific help.
i pulled the radio out and checked the wires. the aftermarket HU i have doesnt have a dimmer control, but the harness does. that was the wire that was bare and shorting out. i checked the fuses again and sure enough that one was blown. about a year back i posted asking about the electrical system in the car, how my dome, map, and vanity lights didnt work unless i pressed the disarm button on the keypad. i thought i checked all the fuses then. that was infact the first thing i did. well, in trying to fix the dash lights i replaced a blown fuse and it happened to fix my lights, today was the first day i could actually use my map lights how theyre ment to be used. duh..
