Yes, get this, or something like it:

But I'm curious as to why you'd downgrade the '95 GT 5.0 FI engine to a 5.0 carb-to-TBFI setup... and whether it's legal except on the drag strip.

In which case, if you're draggin', then a big carb is a better idea anyway.

Can I not just bolt my intake and throttle body onto the other motor? Some people say it'll work and some say it won't... The 86 has roller heads and less than 1000 miles since the rebuild.

Yeah, I was gonna say something about that too, but I didn't know where you were going with things... but I'm not expert enough on that swappage, 86 complete long block in a 95 FI setup.

Doing a little googling... seems like they should swap out, overall...

I would be concerned the cam profiles weren't the same, but they do have the same firing order... so if you put all the intake/injection stuff on it from the '95, it likely will fire up and figure itself out... maybe... I dunno.

From what I'm reading, the difference is the intake was lower and a couple of other minor things from the '93 to the '94-5 versions of those motors. That's pretty much it... from what I'm reading.

If it was me, I would have to *know* it'd work before I didn't just replace the cam gear or whole shaft on the '95 and be done with it. But yeah, it seems you could do it.

But I didn't say "yes", so it's your call.

I dunno if I helped all that much. Heh. Kinda want to be there to see it go down.

I'd be interested in what happened, good or bad, with this. Good luck and have fun with it!
