The Bullitt is now Steeda Tri-Ax equipped!
I'd been keeping myself pretty busy the last several days since my new Steeda Tri-Ax shifter came in from BMCPerformance, but today finally got settled enough to take a stab at the install!
Because I'm not the world's most mechanically inclined Mustanger, by ANY stretch of the imagination, i took my time with the install, reading the directions over and over again (i know, not typical of most dudes - directions? what directions?)
Anyways, the install went flawlessly. Had to call my Bullitt brother from another mother, Steve to get me started, but once i did, it wasn't (too) long before I had a brand new shiny Steeda Tri-Ax short throw shifter installed in my baby!! (now that i'm feeling froggy with the mods i may take a stab at the new JLT CAI i have sitting in my living room!)
And HOLY GEMINY what a difference it makes! I don't know how i went this long without knowing the pleasure a short throw shifter could induce!! Yes, I had to take it for a jaunt down the highway, blazing through the gears from the on ramp up through the top of 5th gear! What a frickin' blast!!!
Also worthy of mention, i picked up a new product at Wal-Mart today while shopping for tools I didn't need to do the shifter install
Meguiar's has a new product out called PlastX, and it claims to do wonders for cloudy/hazy/foggy/scratched clear plastic surfaces (read - headlights). mine were looking pretty horrible, so i picked up the $4 bottle of abrasive compound. I only did one side, as it was getting dark, but i could definitely tell a difference. I will try to take pics tomorrow before touching the second headlight, just to show the difference. But right now it's looking like the $4 bottle is going to save me paying $140 for a new set of headlights... (although i still want to get the clear corners...
