Any other GTS owners out there?

Great ride and true sleeper. I own a 1996 248a. Mine is currently being totally rebuilt as it was truly thrashed and someone had no idea how to fix it. The body panels were tied on with rope. Before fixing the body I fixed the engine just to see what it could do and man it ripped. I was shocked at how fast it was agile to boot. Mine has no ABS optioned cruise control (for some odd reason), power mirrors, no radio, and no power locks. I had no idea what it was when I bought it, only that it seemed odd to V6 seats and no power door locks. I bought it because it was so cheap and had a full blown suspension package. Other than that the car seemed to be trash until I found it was 248a and confirmed it. I believe GTS's will revalue as people are starting to realize what they are and I have seen alot of people who are trying to get their hands on them. Along with that I believe the 248a mustangs will follow suit simply because they were the same thing but not marketed as a GTS. Again that is one sweet ride.

Thanks for all the great compliments on my GTS. I love the fact that the GTS is a unique Mustang, and hope to network with other GTS owners here...

Anyone got a good link please pass it on (so I'll be able to research and I'll know what to look for).
Anyone know of a good one for sale (and/or a 95 240-HP Cobra) please send me a PM.
NOTE: I'm also looking for a 72 Sprint in restorable condition (no rotted floors) ... any body style offered will do.
THANKS ~ !!!

I have a rare 248A (GTS) in autumn orange
I purchased a 1997 autumn orange GT last year. I thought it was odd that it had manual windows and locks. I didn't think much of it. I actually considered putting power in it... Well, there were only 1519 Autumn Orange cars produced in 1997 - and I'm sure even less with 248A option code. Mine came with a spoiler, cruise control and floor mats, and it looks like the dealer put fog lights on it (Ford parts used). Bare bones the rest of the way - like a muscle car should be. The car is in extremely good condition for having 100K miles on it - paint is really good, interior is excellent except I have newer leather seats in it from a 2002 GT (I saved the cloth ones!). I'm actually looking for a factory am/fm cass radio to replace the junk aftermarket CD player - anyone? Also - this car has never been in the snow!
Does anyone else have one like this? You have a nice ride!

Your autumn car is gorgeous, and with such an attractive color, I would think it'd be worth quite a bit someday. Mustang values always plummet and then rebound (...except some of the II's...) and this is going to be a desirable model, both in rareness and coolness. I'd hang on to it and baby it all you can!

if you consider how many of these were actually produced (exact numbers are difficult to come by) this breed of pony would truly appreciated. Consider that in any particular year there were less of these than the mustang bullet. If you want to narrow the least down even more consider the color, and options on each car and you have no more than about a 1000 of each. One of the most common colors used in 1996 for example was Crystal White but if you go through all the 96 mustangs with the 248a option package then you get it down to 1000 or less produced. of those how many do you think are still around? I hope someone starts a registry for these cars someday because those who own one right now are lucky. I read the other day in Hemmings about what they determined a classic or not and they went through a list of critera and then listed some of the cars that would fit this criteria for classic car status in the future. Two of the cars it it mentioned were the 1995 mustang GTS and the Mustang GT/248a. It alos some are surprises like the recent surge in 89-93 mustang prices but that the criteria it listed is considered a rule of thumb in the industry. If you have one keep it because it is starting to gain notice and with Hemmings talking about it now then it can't be too long before these start crossing the auction block.

Woodward Dream cruise
I'm trying to get a spot on Mustang Alley at the Woodward Dream Cruise this year (in Detroit). Maybe I'll see some of you all there. August 16 - I'll be cruising Woodward Ave anyways if I can't get a spot there.
I took the fog lights back off the car and put the deletes back in like its suppose to be. Looks even better now. Now if I could just get a factory cassette player for it. Is Hemmings a magazine? Never heard of it. I'd like to see that article - is it online?

The GTS Mustang was Only produced in 1995. You could however order a option code 248A in model years 96-98 these were somewhat the same minus the 5.0l engine. Yes we have some unique Mustangs with the 95 GTS and the 96-98 248A code Mustang, and the future hopefully will be good to these cars.
