? about 95GT scoops
ok im sure this has been discussed be4 but i need to ask it myself. before i bought my 95GT i never really CLOSELY inspected a 94-98 gt or v6 up close untill i got mine. when i got mine one of the first things i did was see if the scoops on both the hood and sides were functional. when i opend the hood i did find two openings into the hood to allow air (small but hey at least the do something by letting air in). next of course were the side scoops. i looked in the wheel well and sure enough there were vents.
..but i mean ok their functional however are they really? they seem to basically point right at the tire? i thougt functional scoops in that location were meant to cool brakes, i never herd of tire cooling vents? so does anyone know are they functional for a reason or jkust to say they "function"?
(p.s. i saw a 98 gt for sale the other dayt and decided to look for the heck of it...they werent functional, where mine had holes breast was just filled, so why and when did they stop being "functional"?)

Yup that's another big plus for the 94-95 mustangs. Functional side vents and hood. I had a 95 v6 and it had the functional side vents as well. They are supposively meant to cool the brakes but I don't see how that works as well... I guess the big plus is that it just isn't another tacked on air blocker. So they are "functional" however they probably don't make a huge difference unless you are driving in excess of 100 mph through a road course.
To the best of my knowledge they stopped making them functional
in '96. Not sure about the hood scoups but I believe the same is true
for them as well.
I think the only reason for making them non-functional was cost.

They look the same, except where the functional ones have
holes cut into them for the air to flow through, the non-functional
ones just have recesses to make it kind of look like there are
holes there.
