99 cobra supercharged?
what would be the easiest way to supercharge it, but do it in a cheap manor? would a later 03' supercharger work? im just trying to get an idea. my friend just bought a 99 cobra, and doesnt have the internet, which i thought was funny... buying that kind of car and still have no internet.... but thats beside the point!! haha! just trying to get a few ideas for him!
Jason is right, it was not supercharged from the factory.
The easiest way to get a 99/01 cobra Supercharged is to go with a Vortech kit, like the ones available from Tim Barth at T&J Performance. In his kits, I believe he can set you up with Headunit, all piping, 42lb injectors, fuel pump, mass air meter and a good custom tune. This is by far probably the cheapest, most raw setup you can get. Its a good setup and will give your 99/01 a good solid 370rwhp or more. I highly recommend Tim because of his high level of custom service and commitment personally. But you can get the same setup at other shops as well.
an 03 blower will not work because of slightly different head designs I believe. I do believe Kenne Belle Makes a roots style blower for your 99/01 motor now though, but its more pricey than a centrifigul blower.
The setup I personally prefer is a procharger D1-SC with 3 core intercooler or Novi 2000 with intercooler on any mustang now. These blowers are insane! I have a good friend with a 01 cobra and a procharger p1-sc (flows slightly less than the d1-sc), his is intercooled, 42lb injectors, custom tune and made 450rwhp/430rwtq. This thing is a beast!

oh, also a quick question regarding the 305/320 rated horsepower - how do you know if it has been changed from the 305 to the 320? i know that they had to change the intake, but im not sure what else they changed...

Also, I believe they changed the intake and flashed the ECU for a more aggressive program
try closer to $4.5-5k for everything needed and a dyno tune.
We installed a Vortech @ 8 psi on my friend's 99 Cobra. It made 428 rwhp, which is about 500 HP at the crank. I also recommend buying from Modular Powerhouse (formerly T&J Performance), they offer great service
BTW, I know a few guys that have been pushing 550+ rwhp (630+ HP) on stock 99-01 Cobra blocks for more than a year...
