97 cobra stalling need help

I'll describe it the best I can.

Since
Problem

I've changed coils, plugs, wires, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, cleaned air filter and deleted the imrc's.

Problem

When it's hot and muggy out the problem occurs more often. When I'm driving on the highway the cobra will just stall. I'll pull over crank the motor over it will take a couple seconds and starts right up. During this period I can smell alot of gas but the cobra will drive fine and the gas smell will go away.

I'm leaning towards a tsp problem, or cps problem or dirty throttle body

Any advice

Check Engine Light

Can go by Autozone and have it read, or if you have a tuner you can use it.

Negative on it coming on. However once it did and I had it towed to a mustang shop and it read 2 codes

1) the code for a open fuel cap

2) misfire

I bought a new fuel cap we reset the computer it drove fine then It did the stall thing again. It's very inconsistent and happens most the time on hot and humid days.

I live in south fl

Maybe egr is getting stuck open.

What exactly does it do when it dies. Is it a quick death?

It gets real sluggish. Maybe like too much fuel not enough air then gets real low in rpms and then it stalls

Ccrm might be kicking the fuel pump off and keeping it off. Tough one.

These are not bad about throttle bodies. But you can. Just locate a gasket first. They are hard to find. Nice car by the way.

Here is my 97

Just a thought. I know a lot of the ford trucks have this issue. They have a faulty inertia switch. It will shut off the fuel and kill the engine. Not sure if mustangs have one but it might be worth checking
