96 gt mustang weird plug in on car
I have a 96 gt mustang that has a weird looking plug in on it. The wires from this thing run up towards the dash from the bottom. Here is a pic of it
If anybody could help me figure this out, I would appreciate it.

It looks like an old alarm. there is another piece that would connect to it to complete the circuit to the starter w/o it the car wouldn't start.I have seen them before but that is my best guess.
