I'm thinking about buying a 96 gt convertible but I've always heard that the 96 is the slowest mustang ever produced is this true

Perhaps it is late to post this but 96-98 GTs are a reliable bargain and with a PI heads, intake swap make 280hp just something to think about

P.S. any Mustang produced from 1973-86 is slower than a 96 model in stock form

96 can be considered reliable because they were so underpowered they couldn't hurt themselves

sadly I think there is some truth to this but keep in mind this is pretty much the same motor in these 300k crown vics rolling around as taxis and cop cars

For some reason the newer 99-04 2V 4.6s don't rack up the miles like the 96-98s
