A bone stock 2000 gt 5spd 80k miles

2000 gt stock all day. 260hp. Plus I love the "new edge" look. The 98 with those mods is probably only pushing around 225 flywheel hp.

2000 for sure. More power better looking and the new edge cars hold their value much better.

I agree with the others, as the owner of a 1997 GT I can tell you that the 94-98 Mustangs can't hold a candle to the 99-04 models. Even the mods you mention can touch a stock 99-04 GT. I actually love the look of the 94-98 cars, particularly the 96-98 Cobras but I think these 96-98 2V 4.6 cars are going to be remembered as the Mustang II of their generation.

I completly agree! I love the hood a side scoops on the 98, to me the 99-2000 are very plain looking.

It's amazing how smoked headlights and a hoodscoop make the car look 10 times better IMO.... but I think the 96-98 Cobra is the best looking 4th gen Mustang made, 03-04 Cobra comes in a close second in looks

luckily wheels are a quick fix for anyone who doesn't like them. I feel the same way about the 2007-09 GT500. I absolutely love the look of the car in every way with the exception of the ugly wheels! I've seen 07-09 GT500s with the 10-11 style wheels and they look so much better!

I agree with the others go with the 2k. How much are they asking for it?

I own the 2000 but when I was looking for cars I had my eyes on 98 ( the one above ) a 97 cobra and a 00 ( also the one above ). I obviously went with the 2000, the cobra was to much work. I loved the 98 but when I took it to get checked out, they said the exhaust was illegal (o/r mid pipe.). So that scared me away.. ironically that is on the Christmas list for this year lol. Glad I got the 2000 though, hasn't given me any problems, and from what people say is equally as quick as the cobra.

Really? The cobra is rated at 305hp... And has many upgrades over a gt. And mine has a o/r pipe.. not really that big of a deal..

I know the Cobra is rated at 305, but the 99-04 GTs put the power down better. I swear I have consistently seen 99-04 GTs run the same or better 1/4 times and have experienced myself at the strip. I think part of the problem is that the Cobra doesn't have the torque to give it a true advantage over the 99-04 GT. I know that all 99-04 GTs got substantial updates under the hood and upgraded suspension. I'd assume the Cobra may have the advantage in a road course but not at the strip, as long as both cars are bone stock. I know those 4V 4.6s love boost oh to well!

If the cobra would have checked out okay, that's what I would be driving today. Lol. Just because of the potential the 4v has.

I can believe an o/r pipe kept you from buying it lol. An o/r pipe is an essential upgrade for me

Like I said I was completely obvliviois to anything mustang. They made me believe it would be very expensive to fix. Haha. Now I'm almost dying to get rid of the stock exhaust.
