Ok so i have a 95 ft, it has a idle and surging problem. When you start the car it shakes pretty bad. Then will smooth out, but the idle starts to go from 500-1000rpms goes up and down constantly. (Hunting idle) then smooths out when you start to drive it. But shortly after that it will start to surge in 4th and 5th gear. Like it lost power or fuel, for a second. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like the tps needs to be reset. Not positive though

 

fuel filter and clean the throttle body..... Oh and welcome to TMS.

 

Try the idle air control valve. Mine was doing the same tool I replaced it

 

it may need tuned, my 98GT is doing the same thing and in the end I put it on a Dyno and it is running much better now. I would check the IAC first and also the ITC sensor.
