94 Cobra Stereo/CD issue

One of the cars in the family is a 1994 Mustang Cobra (Indy Pace Car) that is occassionaly driven. Had it out for a nice run last weekend, while driving though the radio started to flip to the CD player and back again, it was playing (radio) fine for a good 20 minutes then this started, kept flipping between Radio & CD (and NO, there was no CD in the player nor was one being put on/in)
Knowing the rarity & value of this car we're not too keen on taking it to any ol Joe Schmoe, don't want a "butch job". If anoyone out there could recommend someone (preferably North Jersey Area) it would be appreciated.

May just have some sort of loose connection to the headunit(s). I would have the plugs on the back of the units checked to make sure they are in good and none of the wires are loose.

Is ther a FM/CD button on the unit? Could there be build up on the contacts of the switch causing it to flick between?
Check all the wires first and is that shows no results spray a LITTLE silicone lubricant on the switch so it runs behind and keep pressing it clean it out.
The only other explanation I can think of is that the sensor which detects cd is having a funny turn. What happens when you put a cd in?
