I bought my 2004 Cobra Conv't new. It has always had a intermintant thump noise that happens when the engine is running but I do not have to be moving. The car has made this noise since new and has not gotten any worse.It just drives me crazy. My Girlfriend has a 2002 GT conv't and it does not make this noise. I'm thinking its in the AC. Anyone have a similar noise?

I would check this link out. It pretty much has every known thing about the 03-04 Cobras including trouble areas. Mine also makes a thumping noise but only when I get back on the gas, according to Ford it is normal and most if not all 03-04 Cobras have the same or similar issue. It's actually surprising how many minor trouble areas these cars have.

Yes it is the a/c! I had a 03 cobra coupe and a 04 cobra vert. as the a/c cycles the lines move a little bit hitting the pass side firewall. no big deal!

Does anyone make a traction bar for these cars? The wheel hop when you nail it really sucks.
