The color was Crimson Red which was a metallic burgundy. Also available in Oxford White and black, on the V6 Mustangs and GTs. Included on coupes and verts.
I dunno if the attachment works or not, but apparently it has special floor mats and is available in red, white, or black.
Med. Parchment Interior, gold rims, and other various stuff....check Brads timeline.

Yea! they were released in 04 Doug. Very limited supply for the 40th anniversary! They came in two versions V6 AND gt. They were available in 3 colors white, black, and crismon red. My wife bought the [V6] 5speed. My friend bought the GT 4.6 BOTH in the red. His is called crismon red. the wife's is called MERLOT. Go figure. Anyway the wifes car came with billet pedals, and a dead pedal included. the 40th badging is on the fender as well as the inside consol. The mirrors are color cordinated, and collapsable. [pull in] The other guy had to order his in from Montreal, as it was the only one in the country. The wife ordered new seat covers for her car last year through Ford]. What a night mare that was. They would'nt fit, so we sent them back, twice, and finally after much discussion we found out that the 04 coupe was a convertible bottom with a 04 coupe hardtop. I have never seen a black, or a white one. I know there was an optional wheel that was a beautiful orange color shaped like a bullitt. I think it was only available for the 40th .
Right now we are having a bad snow storm, but I will try to send a picture in a couple days Have you or anyone seen any of these on your travels? I just CAN'T see a car being that limited! Limited or not, its good trade bait on a Mach, or A COBRA!

Oddly enough I've never seen a 40th ann. Edition on the road other than the showroom where I bought my centennial vert. It was the coupe, very sharp! Only thing that seemed odd was the stripes were only on the hood and trunk lid, none on the roof. The gold rims with the crimson is very eye catching!

Sorry I have been away for a few months -- Anyway, I have one of the Crimson Red 40th Ed GT.
The color combination came as close as I figured I could get to my '66.
Convincing the wife was difficult!! I was finally able to convince her, but I had to compromise and get the automatic transmission.
So if I really want to have fun, I have to drive the '66!!

As a note -- although you can't really tell in the picture -- the wheels are gold, but it doesn't seem as distinctive to me as in the pre-release pictures.
Here is a close-up of mine shortly after I brought it home 9/11/2003. I am now up to 8,900 miles on it (1/18/2005).
