2001 oil gauge reading problems

2001 oil gauge reading problems

My oil gauge will drop to nothing then rise to the correct level off and on while I drive. Sometimes it will stay down for awhile and other times just for a few seconds. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

1st thing I'd check would be the sending unit. It could be bad, or the wire could be loose or have a break in it.

I had one go bad in a jeep, and when i'd slow down, it would go to nothing, and then rise like the speedo.
