i was thinking the other day that id like to get a convertible..but how i like my car that i have now. so i searched for my year, a 2000, and found a nice gt for $8200, 9 miles from where i live. it has 81k on the clock. do you think i could get $8200 for mine. its a gt coupe with 68k. in fair to good condition. and do you think its worth it? to pay the extra money if i have to.

Don't know how to answer how much you'll get. best to check you area to see how much they are going for, and compare to Edmunds and KBB.

However, if my car was available as a Convertible, I'd have wanted it instead. They can be tons of fun.

You can go to www.edmunds.com and get an approximate value for your car. Check the carfax for the vert, it showed 14 records on it. It may be nothing, but I'd check it out anyway. Good luck!

Not a vert fan.....they can are heavier than hard tops.

However......if you're just a cruiser then go for it.

This is the 2nd topic in which you've thought about dumping the 2000....you might have already made up your own mind!!! Also do you favor a 5 spd over an auto....you might wait if you really want a 5 spd.

I love my vert... i love the feel of driving 90 on the interstate with the top down... all you can hear is the wind and the rumble...

As far as vert vs hardtop, it all depends on when you want out of the car. if you're racing it, go for the hardtop. But if you just want a fast, fun car, i'd go with a vert...
