2000 Ford Mustang GT Seat Mod....
Anyone have any idea how to modify the front driver and passenger seats to be able to turn and face the backseat?
Basically, is there a mechanism that would allow me to turn the seats to face the rear just when I wanted to? Are there specific seats and rotating mechanisms that would allow me to do this? Or do I need to be able to detach the back of the seat and latch it to either side depending on which way I want to be facing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

wow good question. Wlcome to TMS first off. Turing the seat in there would be reall tough I think unless you can make the console or at least part on the console removeable. I am sure you could get the parts to make it happen tho.

But an example, you could use a barstool or other swivelling seat for this.
Technically speaking, it's simple: Disassemble to reveal the basic lazy susan part. Modify and iInstall large poundage lazy susan between the tracks and the seat bottom. This may require you fabricate a proper set of mounting plates or braces. While fabricating, make sure it has lockable stops, one doesn't want the seat to turn whilst driving, after all.
Understand that this *entirely changes the safety characteristics of the seat* and therefore it is advisable you do not have a wreck.

From a practical point of view, the rotation of the seats in either direction is likely not possible because of the console and/or driveshaft hump interfering with the seat back/front. But maybe you'll be lucky.
