I just purchased a 1995 gt convertible. It has a lot of options on it such as a Saleen ground effects kit and graphics, light bar, shock tower bar, 160mph speedometer and probably more when I really can get under this thing. My questions are, is the rearend and 8.8 or ? Did the gt's come with a posi rear end or was that an option? It also has shorty tubular headers and a dual cat exhaust system. Was this exhaust factory or was it added on by the prev owner. What gear ratio would probably be in the rear end. It has the aod automatic trans and the engine cover says 302 HO. What is the hp rating on this engine? If it seems like these are a lot of questions, it is because this is my first Ford in 30 years. Thanks in advance. B) Happy new year to everyone.

Yes, 8.8

Did the gt's come with a posi rear end or was that an option?
They are 'limited-slip'

Tubular headers were standard, as was the H-pipe and dual exhaust.

What gear ratio would probably be in the rear end.
3.08 or 3.27(probably this one with an AOD)

What is the hp rating on this engine?
215 I believe.

I just looked at the tag in the door frame on the drivers side and the ax code which I assume is axle is "e". Can you tell me what ration this would be?

3.73 Gears would seriously wake your car up. 4.10s would be a good choice too, but many dont find them "streetable"

only 2.73s? even my five point slow has factory 3.08's (optional) I honestly thought the AOD would have 3.27s

It shouldn't. You will have to change the speedo gear. I am not sure, but i believe you might have to reprogram the computer to acknowledge the different gears.

The manuals came with 2.73 gears, I believe with an automatic
it would have the 3.08 or the 3.27's.
