I wanted to find out if there was any kind of special trim or graphic package available from the dealers on 02 GTs? I am looking at buying one, and it has applique of several running ponies on both doors and front fenders. the ones on the doors are just outlines the ones on the fenders are solid. They salesman said he thought they were some sort of dealer option. They look nice, not gaudy but just wanted to see if it was a dealer option or someones aftermarket graphic.

Thanks.

no, i think they are a aftermarket option, i have seen these decals for sale in Muscle mustangs and Fast Fords magazine. They are not too pricey and do look pretty good, a local has them on his 97 red GT

im pretty sure that the decal your describing was originally available through for on like 02-04 V6's that came with the "pony package" wich included chrome versions of the v6 rims, a gt hood scoop that decal and maybe a few other things. the decal is avialable through a few aftermoarket mustang parts dealers

I have a response in another forum that also says they were a factory option. So that two factory option on aftermarket.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a factory option on the GT's,just the V-6. More than likely it was just a dealer add on,not any specific package.

Well, The silver GT is tucked into it's spot in my garage for the night. I picked it up after work. I have had a good number of responses without a definative answer. I did run the VIN and it is truely a GT. I may call the local dealer to see if they can claify if it was a factory or dealer option. So I am now the proud owner of multi-generational mustangs, my 72 coupe, and the 02 GT. I think I will start referring the the garage as the corral.

I'll Add Pics soon. I would prefer to do them outside but weather and work hours will make that difficult until the weekend.

No Those aren't the ponies I have. I will get a pic up soon. My wife went away for the night and took the digital camera with her. The ponies on the doors are just the outlines.

Anyway Picuters to come.

Here is what I have been talking about. I had the mustang in the driveway to wash and wax etc, and pulled back in the garage just before it started to snow again. Took this one quick in the gareage, Will get more later.

Any way these are the ponies.

Yeah, i've never seen that before. It was either put on by a shop or it was a dealer option. Looks pretty good!
