hey everyone, i have an 01 mustang gt conv. trying to take out the back seat to get to the rear speakers. does anyone out there have a conv and know how to get these out ? thanks

 

There are two tabs about 6-10 inches from the sides of the back interior panels. The tabs are near the very top of the the carpeted part of the interior where it meets the bottom of the seat pad. You have to push in the tab to allow it to unlock. The way it locks is there are two small posts attached to the bottom of the seat pad. They insert into holes in the carpeted panel and there are tabs that hold them in place.

Word of warning. Don't try yanking the seat pad up without pressing the tabs because the piece holding it there can bend, if it does the tabs won't depress any longer. The whole thing works similar to most headrests in cars.
