Turbo @ 150K miles?
Turbo @ 150K miles?
OK, my V6 Stanger has about 150K miles on it and I finally have the money to upgrade to a GT, but this car holds a special place in my heart. It was the first car I bought and it has traveled the country with me over the last 10 years.
So, what I am wondering is would I be able to add a turbo charger to the Stang to get the horsepower up above 300, and if so, could the engine handle it. If not, what would have to be done to the engine for it to handle it, or would I just need a new engine. Anyone have any insights?

Give this guy a call! He lives in my area and makes the best Turbo Kits for the 99-04 Mustangs in the Country!
http://www.tmaturbo.com/
His name is Andy..
Also, the stock motor won't have a problem running 300RWHP daily! Most guys are running the 99-04 V6 Stangs at 360RWHP..
I would advise to keep the v6 becuase you like it so much. Keep saving your money and get want you really want sometime in the future. Dont waste the money on a turbo for such an old car with so many miles. Keep saving. You'll thank yourself in a few years.

If you call TMA Turbo, Andy will tell you all you need to know in regards to the 3.8L engine. He is the man when it comes to 3.8L Mustangs and Dodge Vipers!
I'd boost it, but also set aside some money to build a stouter engine for when it inevitably blows. That way you get a little fun now, and you can feel reasonably safe because that new motor will be donoe soon anyhow
Thanks
Thanks for the input everyone. I'll definitely reach out to Andy at TMA-Turbo and get his insights as well. Then it looks like I'll just have to make a choice. I'm sure the Stanger would enjoy the boost, as would I.
