Ok, I think i just decided on buying a loaded 04 V6 for about 12500 with abour 4.9% apr. thats a monthly payment of $163.73!!!!!!!!! I want a GT but decided on waiting till i graduate from college in 2007 due to insurance and its just impractical at this time.

I just cant pass up the prices! i figured i'll have the 04 payed off by the time i graduate so i can sell that as a downpayment for the 2007.

anyone have any arguments for or against my idea? i really want the 05 but there wont be any incentives

Did you ever think about buying brand new Mustang V6 with 0% interest rate? It starts at about $17,000 USA.

I don't know man, I own '00 Mustang V6, 5-speed manual, and I'm happy with the car but sometimes I think I made a mistake of buying V6 model. Maybe it's better to buy an older GT.

I also drive a '00 V6 manual and while I love my car and it's fun to drive and play around with I really wish I would've gotten the GT instead, but at the time insurance was a killer for me too. Stella Rosa hit a point with the older GT. You can buy a 89-93 5.0 that's modded for a few grand and they're easy to get running good. I got a little taste of some power with my car and now I want much much more.
BTW, that is a good deal on the car, though you can probably get a used 99-01 GT for about 14-16 grand. It kinda boils down to how much you can hold off on more power.

Yep yep. Nothing new to add. Same story as the other two folks. College...insurance...bought a v6...wish I had held off for the v8...

I think I saw this in a tattoo parlor, but that doesn't matter. I think its something you/we should think about:

"The satisfaction of good work long outlasts the sweetness of cheap price" or something like that. What I'm trying to say is you're getting a decent deal but just make sure you're getting the car you will still want two years from now.

my first car was a 00 V6 and i loved it at first. but you just get bored after awhile cuz you cant go very fast. i shouldve bought the GT... at the time that was all i could afford. now i have the 00 V6 for my daily driver and my 04 Mach as my fun machine!!!

get the GT!!!! if you can afford it... if not a 6 is good... then get the GT or maybe even a cobra... hope you luck!

Same age, same story (I'm graduating in 07'). I almost went with a new V6... but I spat in the face of practicality and acquired a practically mint 89 5.0 convertable instead. Saved money (which i can turn around and reinvest in the form of performance aids such as the supercharger I plan on installing this summer). I think I made the right choice... there's something very special about having a perfect V8 asa freshman in college... plus, the purr of the engine attracts the females like flies to carrion B) .

Talking

Here is what happens, when you buy a V6 and quest for more power.

You buy a GT then trade it in for an 05 GT.

The Mineral Grey V6 hides dirt real well. My girlfriend drives the six now.

Very good advice. That's how I got my '03 V6. I love my car, but I know once I save up some money and the '07-'08 Cobra comes around Im trading it in. Had I bought a GT, I would keep it. But, the GT was out of my price range, monthly payment wise and insurance wise.

Nevermind an '03 V6,

you could probably find a leftover '03 GT for a great deal as well.
