Struts will not fit over knuckle.

I have an 02 Mustang V6 Convertible. I have tried to install new front struts, but cannot find any that will fit over the knuckle.

They all have an inner sleeve on the mount that makes the mount to narrow to fit over the knuckle. The Ford part number based off the VIN will not fit either.

Has anyone else had this problem?

What knuckle are you referring too?

The lower 2 hole mount will not fit over the spindle mount. The strut mount is 1 eighth inch two narrow.

The inner sleeve as shown in pic makes the mount to narrow to fit over the spindle.

The struts, and any strut that I have looked at have an inner sleeve that makes the mount too narrow to fit over the the mounting plate on the spindle. It would fit perfectly if the sleave were not there. I am told by ford there is only one strut for all models. Baffled.....
