Quick question. on the following picture (taken from the 1999 timeline), the V6 had a cutout for the exhaust. I know my 2000 doesn't have that, and was wondering whether this was a pre production model that later had the cutout dropped. If all 1999's had this, are they available anywhere? I need a new bumber cover and would quite like one with just one cutout (cannot be bothered with a dual exhaust to accomodate the GT bumper! Any ideas?

I bought my 99 brand new in May 1999. My stock single exhaust has a turned down tip just like the green 2000 in the second picture. I'm guessing it was a preproduction style.

it was pre-production for sure, but i don't mind the single cut-out even if it is as subtle as that

I think it mentions somewhere in the timeline that that is just a preproduction bumper, so no - you will never see one.
