Ok, I've got a 97 6 banger that came with an AM/FM tape player. The tape player finally bit the dust so I went to Wal Mart, and picked up a Sony CD player to replace it, and a connector for my car to make it fit. So I hooked the thing up up, it's getting power, but NOTHING is coming out of the speakers. No static, or nothing. There was an old speaker in my basement from an 86 Escort, and I touched the wires coming out of it to the ones in the back of the new CD player, and it played so I don't think it's the CD player.

As far as I can tell everything is hooked up correctly, but no sound is coming out of the speakers. Any help, or advice you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'd start by double checking the connections to the wiring harness adaptor. Although it seems unlikely that you could have hooked up all four pairs of speaker wires wrong. maybe the adaptor itself is bad?

Edit:
Glad I could help. Was it something you'll be able to laugh about later?

So how do I go about deleting a post?

Hello,

It seems my son and I are experiencin the same problem you did. Unfortunately, we can also produce sound from an extra external speaker from the new radio, but can't get it to come out the car speakers. Any clues you can share please?

Thanks,
John

Well, we figured it out...We bought the car used, and there seems to have been after market kit wiring added. Once we determined that, the rest was easy....
