Today, when my mom got home, she comes to me and says 'ummm, yesterday when i was backing out of the garage, i kind of .... hit your car."

So i go out and look, and right behind the passenger side rear fender well, there is a good side dent, with a little paint damage.
"not too bad," i think to myself. "I could probably pop it out with a hammer."

So the genius that i am, i take away all the trunk carpet panels, and start hammering away... only to make the dent WORSE. Now there are little hammer marks. Yikes.

As for my mom...
She backed out my father's 2001 tropic green v-6, and the clear coat is pretty messed up. I can live with the damage (i dont plan on keeping my car for very long...) but my father will not.

We havent told him yet, but does anyone have any suggestions? The clear coat has scuff marks in it. I tried polishing it out, but only some of it came off. The dent is so-so, on his fender well (most mustangs ive seen have these already... they stick out so darn far!).

Yikes!!!

Yikes indeed!

If your dad will not notice, there are companies that will do paint repairs, I think they are called Dent Doctor, or Doctor Dent, something like that. Look in the directory under Auto bodywork / paintwork. They have a system that works quite well!

Good luck telling your dad! :notnice:

No offense, but if you made yours worse, sounds like you should try anything yourself.

This is like that old Doritos commerical with Jay Leno.

"We made this easy carrying case for when you hit your mom's car. And this double case for when you hit your mom's car....with your dad's car."

(each case was a rack of Dorito bags)

Blame it all on your mom.

Claim no responsibility.

He doesnt have to claim responsibility- his mom did it.. if they get it fixed she'll pay for it, but his dad will notice the dent in the kids car and ask what happened so..come up with a good lie

Actually, he said that he tried to hammer the dent out, but only created many smaller dents on top of the first dent. So, it technically is both of their faults.

It was a joke, anyway. Note the jester smiley.

BONDO!!!! Fixes all dent problems, but you're still gonna have to paint it of course.

you hasve to be REAL careful using bondo; and to get the paint and clear to match with a can of spray paint is going to be hard in less you really know what your doing. Inless your inclined in the body work area, get someone else to do it. I first started doing body work on my old beater toyota, and got pretty good at it. Practice makes perfect. So dont think youll get it perfect first try, just a word of warning.

I would have went to wally world & bought a $20 ding king. I mean if it works the it's $20 well spent & if it doesn't then they do give refunds. But since you took the hammer to it. I don't know what to suggest. Good luck with it though.

well, as far as im concerned, ding kings and such are pretty much junk. Inless it is a massive ding that your popping, its worthless. A bidy shop should be able to fix that small ding for a couple hundred bucks. Remeber im up in canada here, when i talk about money.

Ding kings don't work unless you use it on a flat, straight surface, but since he's got a dent on the fender, it's totally useless.
