loud loud grinding noise!

Hey everyone,
My brother in-law ( ) has a 00 electric green V-6 Coupe, and its making a real loud grinding noise and it isn't handling quite right, my sister can hear it from inside her house when hes out at the road. It is a 5 speed with 70k miles. he doesn't abuse it....i'm thinking front wheel bearings? i haven't even seen the car.....and they live 45 minutes away and i havent had the chance to visit yet..is there a TSB of any sort that I don't know about or am i correct with the wheel bearings assumption?

Doug, without hearing it, I cannot say. See if you can get your sister to film it on a digital camera and post it on photobucket. Should be able to give you some advice then.

I think it could be the bearing, either that or it is the brake is ceased. I guess without hearing we have no idea. My guess, if the grinding is contant could be the brakes if it is constant with pulsing variation then its the bearing. I only speak from limited experience.
Either way good chance its dangerous so best not to use. Not only dangerous but could put excessive and expensive wear on other parts.

the sound was coming from the drivers side front, the car did it anytime it was moving, and jessica (my sister) said it pushed to the left on the road also. he brought it to the dealer today, i guess it had 5 things wrong with it, i didn't get a chance to talk with him, but we won't be talking anytime soon anyways because i guess no they're getting divorced anyways i'll try and find out what the problems were, thanks for the help tho guys! oh and BTW what exactly would happen for a brake to get seized up??? i was wondering about this after 1 of u mentioned it...

i dont know much aboout this but a guy i know said that in most mustangs around 80000 miles the headers go, and around 100,000 the harmonic balance goes, this may not be your problem but its something to think about

I know it had something to do with the brakes and a heat shield of some sort, my sister isn't mechanically inclined so she didn't quite know what she was saying to me.
