How to remove tranny

Remove the driveshaft, shifter and starter. Unplug all the wiring. Then take off the trans bolts. Your gonna need a looong extension and universal to get the top two.

after removing your drive shaft put a plastic bag over the end of the trans and wrap some tape around it. Use a floor jack to hold up the end of the trans and remove the cross member. Then you can jack it up or lower it to make it easiser to get to the trans mounting bolts. If I remember correctly I removed the top trans bolts from under the hood but I had a v8

Is it like the AOD where there's an access plate in the front of the tranny underneath and you have to turn the crank manually to get at each one at a time?
In that case you undo the nuts holding the flex plate to the torque converter and them undo the bolts in the bell housing.
I think you also have to be careful of it tilting down and the torque converter sliding off the tranny. Correct?
