Hood Shaking and a Ticking Noise

Hey all, I have a 2000. The hood shakes when I get up to about 70mph or more.

Also, I am getting a ticking noise when I accelerate. It only ticks for about the first five minutes from the time I start my car. But it does it every time, and only when I'm accelerating.

Ok, I have an '02 V6 and the hood shaking is natural, you can get racing pins that hold it down In the very improbable chance that the hood were to fly open... The engine ticking, open the hood and crank it, is it coming from the left side, when you are looking at the engine, it is the same issue I'm having. It is a loose rocker arm, easiest solution is mechanic, however, if thats not what you want to do, you can pull the valve covers off and tighten it yourself, but go to an auto parts store and buy the valve cover gaskets before you start on the project, they cost like 20 bucks. If you want to do this, just let me know and I'll tell you more

The sound is coming from the right side when I'm looking at the engine. It makes a constant sound no matter how high the RPMs are, and it is only when the accelerator is being pushed and only for about ten minutes (until the engine has heated up).

Rocker arm on the opposite side of mine then, it is what pushes the valves up and down which is what creates the pressure that pushes your car foreword, should be an easy fix, just finding the time is my problem.
