Hey gang. I am taking delivery of a new Competition Orange V-6 on Saturday. It is on the dealer lot but I am out of town till then. I am getting a great deal on it, but I noticed the car has some scratches in the paint on the left side of the front bumper (there are three, about 2 inches long).

Here is my question: should I get them to repaint the bumper at my local body shop, or insist they take more off the asking price of the car (say, 1000 or 1500 dollars?).

OR, (I would love this the most) insist they take a grand off asking as the car is damaged AND insist they repair it.

When I bought my car... I got a great deal on it
04 Mustang with everything on it and it's got the anniversary package and they gave it to me for 14k It was 22,000 MSRP.

There were several scratches on the side and on the back. I insisted that they take out the scratches right there at the dealership. I left it there for about 3 days and they had it completely scratch free and detailed They didn't charge me anything else because I insisted on them fixing it if I was going to buy it

Well, I am going to the dealership in about an hour so we'll see what happens. I am going to work the salesman for another grand (if I do that the car will sell for 6,200 below the 21,000 msrp or about 14,800.00).

I will post photos shortly.

Okay. I worked the salesman down another 500 because I was driving it off scratched. We wrote down all the scratches on a Due On Sale Bill and everybody signed it. They will give me a loaner and have the entire front and rear bumpers sent to the body shop of my choice to be entirely repainted.

As for the rest, so far so good. I am throughly enjoying every aspect of this car. I am doing some minor add ons right now.

Shorty antenna
K&N Filter
Silverstar Headlamps
Countored Mud Flaps, Front and Rear

I am putting the flaps on Friday night and waxing and washing the entire car so I should have some photos Sunday.
