i looked at a 2000 v6 5 speed and really liked it today. it had cobra r rims,cobra front bumper and a fiberglass hood but has a rebuilt title. the car looks solid but there is a twisted peice of frame under the radiator. other than that the body seems straight. its obviously been wrecked but looks good to me. however im a mechanic not body man so does that peice being bent mean the frame is probably bent or? the peice im talking about looks bad. almost like a boomerang

 

Avoid it. Trust me. If you can see damage outright, then it's going to be worse than you think. Even if you can't tell, damage can be bad.

 

Title - yellow flag at least.

Frame twist - red flag.

Unless you want a heck of a money pit project, you need to leave that one far far behind.

 

A rebuilt title here in NJ is called a Salvage Title, and it means that the car was totaled by an insurance company, sold at auction, then reconstructed. Generally speaking, re-builders don't make them correct....just pretty for as cheap as possible. And a branded title can reduce the value of the car by up to 40%.

Walk away as fast as you can.
