Hey guys I have a problem with my cruise control. I've checked the fuses and they are fine. The lights won't even come on (if there are any) in the dash to indicate that it is on when I push the button on the steering wheel. Any ideas to fix this? I really don't want to spend $90 and hour for a shop diagnostics. Also it came like this when I bought it a year ago and it was the only thing the guy didn't know how to fix and was he was pretty skilled in the field of mechanics. It was the only thing wrong when I bought the car, not that it really matters. Just a little background.

 

There are no lights in the dash so you dont really know when its on. It could be the module has gone bad or it could just finiky and you need to play with it a little to get it going.

Your speedometer is working right?

 

I thought mine was broken when I first got my car. I realized I had to press the ON button on the left, then press the SET/ACCEL button on the right. Is that what you're doing?

 

Yes my speedometer is working right and yes I have tryed pushing the on then set accel. I understand that you have to be going so fast to use cruise control too and I've tryed it on the expressway at 50mph and it still doesn't work.

 

Fuses?

 

Fuses are fine. Already checked them. And again, the cruise control is the only thing not working. Everything else is working fine.

 

Maybe the control motor itself is bad. The linkage from the. Control motor to the throttle body is still attached right?

 

Yes it is. I'm keeping all of this in mind for when I have a chance to look again.

 

Only thing I can think of is a faulty control module.
