my local dealer has a great deal on a silver 04 mustang coupe premium package. they will give me my a plan plus 2500 rebate plus 1000 customer cash and they will take another 1000 off the car. how does everyone like their v6? do you have any problems? i'm trading my 04 focus se for the stang. is there anything that i should know about? i have a good friend of mine that has a 04 mach and he loves it and has not had any problems with it. thanks

6's are great! I never really had a problem with mine. And if there was a problem it wasn't some thing that really affected the performance of the car.

I would highly recommend the V-6. Odd, I traded in my 02 Focus ZTS for mine in November.
HOWEVER-watch the price. MSRP on my Premium with the interior upgrade was 20,500. A 3000 rebate, supplemental cash, and another 1,000 off by niggling the dealer to death go it to 16,000. On top of that, they gave me a grand over high blue book on my Focus, so really I drove it off for 15,000 (and they threw in free maintenance for 3 years free).
Check blue book for current rebates. Also, hard sell the dealer if you can. If they still have one of these 04's still on the lot, it is eating them up as they have had to buy it already and the new model has killed interest in the last one. They should be willing to hand it over for well under invoice.
I will say this, it a sweet color. Silver is my favorite and, although the instant I saw my Comp Orange on the lot, I knew it would be mine, my 05 Equinox is silver as most future cars of mine will be.
Treat it well, do not drag it, and keep up on the maintenance and the car will last you a very long time. This model was around for 10 years and by 02, 03, 04 all the bugs were gone and the V-6 is famous for its reliability and tendency to increase in power and fuel economy over the first 100,000 miles.
Several key mods right off the bat: Mach 1 Chin spoiler ($80.00 and 1 hr to install), sequential tail lights ($80.00 and 2 hr to install), K&N Filter ($40.00 and 5 min to install).
Instant good looks and better MPG for very little hassle and money.
Cheers and keep us posted.

yeah that silver is really sharp! if you do the chin spoiler make sure you have a buddy there to give you a hand holding it in place while you make marks and drill the holes.. i did it the hard way by myself..mach-1 grill delete is also a good inexpensive mod that will go along w/ the chin spoiler really well

i had a 2000 v6 with 48k on it when i traded it in. only problem i ever had was the air idle bypass valve went bad twice. coverd both times under warranty. try and get them to throw in the extended warranty. my brakes were original. tires were replaced at 45k. everything else was in good condition..................shame it wasnt competition orange, but i guess i am biased on that color! good luck!

well the dealership tried to jack me and lied about the a plan price. i have now found a white 04 with the 3.8l v6 that the sticker is 19,000 and with the a plan and 2500 rebate brings the price to 15,220. and i have bought 4 other fords from this dealer and the sales manager has told me that he will give a lot more for my trade then what it is worth to move the stang off the lot. my question is what is the differnces in the 3.9 and the 3.8? they have the same hp rating right??. i never have really cared for white but for the price i can handle it!!!

haha acually just explained the 3.8 3.9 in another thread that sounds like a good deal, white you can do a white and black scheme looks wise it'll look really sharp.. the 3.8 and 3.9 has no differance, its just rounded up.. 3.8 parts will work on the 3.9..motor is the same, same hp, same torque got nothing to worry about with that
