Ok...this must have been asked 1,000,000 times now...but i'm going to ask again...

I'm looking for true dual exhaust for my 6-er. I plan on getting a X or H pipe (which is better?!) to replace the stock Y pipe. Then comes the tricky part...

I've heard MAC cat-backs offer awesome sound and good preformance. I've also heard the same about Bassani's (I like Borlas, but they are too expensive!). Which one is better sound and preformance? Also... how good do the GT take-offs sound and preform in relation to the Bassani and MAC?

i have a bassani x-pipe with flowmaster catbacks on my gt, it sounds insane, i like the way bassani pipes sound, i herd it on a few other ppls cars and thats y i went with it. as far as for your 6, well my cousin had a 95 v6 and he had a "custom" h pipe and mac cat-backs, in my opinion it sounded terrible, ive herd some v6's that sound good. i did not like the way the mac sounded. dont go purely on what might give you more hp, if you dont like the way it sounds y waste the money
well thats my 2cents

they dont make a X pipe for the v6 just yet so stuck keeping the y pipe or an H pipe unless you want to get an X custom made. GT take offs are good but sound a little ricey on a 6 from what ive heard on other peoples cars, i like MAC on an o/r H pipe and also their y pipe kit sounds good but takes about 3,000 miles to really break in and rumble, Magnaflows "magnapacks" are also a good investment..they have more of a deeper sound though and get pretty quiet if you let out of the throttle.

Regarding performance: Don't be surprised if you lose HP and torque in the lower RPM range when you switch to duals. You may gain a few HP up near the rev limit, but unless you've got more mods than your sig shows, you will probably lose some grunt down low.

Here's a site that claims to have 200+ sound clips. There's also several forums, including one named "help me decide." You might be able to find someone who's already done the options you're looking for, so you can listen before you decide.
