Where have all the foxes gone?
The Fox mustangs! The car that saved the mustang from extinction and started a huge movement of after-market suppliers and tuners and magazines! Where are they now? I see so few of them now roaming the streets. Most of them in disrepair. Faded paint. I know times change but it seems so unfair. Anyone else feel the same way?
Sure, I agree. It's sad to see ANY mustang fade/rust away and get beat on etc. However, when I drive mine around it's kind of nice not to see everyone and thier brother driving one like it, ya know. Even tho my fox is a 2.3, I still love it!! (still waiting to do a 2.3 turbo swap tho lol) as you can read here http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=5351
And if I can help it, my fox will never go extinct!

Its true you don't see that many around but to tell you the truth when I first bought my fox about 2 months ago I couldn't believe the amount of people who either have one, had one or know someone who does. I have been stopped by people walking by my garage, etc who want to just swap stories about when I got mine what I have done with it and what I am going to do as well as what their experiences with foxes have been. I think overall although you see less of them on the road now the excitement around foxes is still there. I also think that in about 20 years when we go to car shows instead of seeing tons of late 60's Mustangs we are gunna see tons of foxes. Mainly because the people restoring 60s Mustangs are the people who are in their 50s and 60s themselves and finally have the time and money to restore a car they loved from when they were younger. So I think the same will happen with the foxes, people who loved them while they were young and have the time and money later in life to restore them will start doing that and you will start to see more come out of the wood work. I dunno, thats just my take on it.
They're out tthere, most people I know use them as 2nd or 3rd cars though and are used for show or racing or just nice days. The few that you see on the road are pretty beat. Don't forget, an 87 Gt is 18 years old! How many 68 mustangs did you see on the road in 1986?
its a 5.0 and has gt logos and stripes but the insurence company has it listed as a lx and I looked up something that said itis a glx, so I am not sure what it is and I am trying to find out. the title doesn't say anything. I am going to hot rod it out so it doesn't matter what it is.
If you dont like foxes in disrepair, you would hate to see the one down the street from my house - paint peeling, broken quarter window, so rain has been coming in for at least 5 years, and it hasnt moved in probably 8 or 9.

The only downside is you will need a garage or a well fenced back yard to hide your parting out hobby from the over bearing
Uniformity is the key all mine are 2.3 4 cylinders
