A LONG time ago. Sat in my dads lap and he let me steer his 65.

First one I actually drove drove was an '82 GLX -- which happened to be my first car as well.

Last fall when I bought a '89 LX with a four banger. It wasn't fast, but it was still sweet as hell. Sold it to my cousin for $1600.

When I was 12 a distant cousin/friend had a 1983 Mustang GT 4-speed, black-on-black! TRX rims, T-tops. I fell in love with the car! I helped him put a water pump on, though I did not know what the hell I was doing at the time! I was hooked!

My grandfather worked for Ford for 30 years, so I have always been a fan, but the 1983 Mustang GT was the first time I had rode in a mustang. I also got to drive it, the first car I drove. Lots of power for a 12 year old!

It would have to be this past year actually; (I'm only 16 now and was 15 at the time) My parents surprised me and showed me an 1982 5.0 4-speed with T-tops, which they bought for me. My dad actually brought it home while I was at school, the next day he took me for a ride. Got on the highway and was up to 60mph before I knew it (I loved it.) I guess the edelbrock aluminum manifold & carburetor, K&N air filter, and full Flowmaster exhaust system with no catylitic converters really help. I've had my license for 2 months now, drive it to school everyday and I love the car.

Mine was back in 89. My roommate at the time bought a new 89 LX 5.0 5 spd. We went over to a friend's house, and he had too much to drink. Since I had stuck to the Mountain Dew that night, he tossed me the keys.

I was the first one to get pulled over in that car. He didn't have his tag on yet, but it was laying in the back seat.

I think I drove that car more than he did over the years. I could have slapped him when he sold it at auction for $2000.00 a couple of years ago. He didn't even tell me he was selling it.

Oh well.

My best friend in high school had a pristine 70 coupe 302 4 sp that we would cruise in. I still love those memories. I bought my first car a 69 fastback 302 auto when I was 18. that was 5 mustangs ago and I still love them.

79 Cobra,

What is your Cobra like. My first Mustang was a Yellow and Black 79 Cobra with the 4cyl Turbo. Lotta memories in that car.

It is orange/black 302 auto with ac, cruise, aftermarket radio, has the wrong year mustang wheels but is overall in pretty good condition for a 25 year old car. I bought it 2 years ago from the original owner and it has always been a NM car so there is no rust anywhere. this is Mustang #6, I have had 1 65 coupe, 2 67 coupes, and 2 69 fastbacks.

I have thought about restoring one to match my old one. The cost, however, would not be worth it.

I am probably going to buy the next Cobra (or SVT or Shelby, whatever) to satisfy my thirst.

I was 9 and it was 1966 a friend of my Uncle took us kids for a ride in a 1966 Red Fastback. We thought we were the coolest.

The first one I owned was 1979 2.3L Coupe, bought it in 1981. Remember the gas crunch?

I was a sophomore in high school when I came home to find my first car in the driveway. It was a '76 Mustang Cobra II. It was a piece of junk, but I loved that car!! That started my love for mustangs. I bought a '86 hatchback in '85 after that. I've had several other Stangs since then. Looking forward to my next one VERY much!!

79cobra, Too bad I didn't get on this forum a few months ago. I had a few of the trx rims laying around. they were akso from a 79 glx 5.0 I had back in 87. Do you have the typical crack in the floor pan under the drivers seat?
