I was told that X pipes are lil better than H pipes due to the fact they let it flow easier and lets the motor breathe better. Is this true?

From what I understand that is true. But it changes the sound. An h pipe should be a deeper sound.

X pipes mellow the tone out more than H pipes and they scavenge the exhaust better the closer the X is to the motor the better that's why I went Dr Gas the X part on mine is just behind the bell housing right where my long tubes end the only thing I don't like about an X pipe is you can barely tell I have a big cam because it mellows it out so much but it has the wail of a banshee at higher rpm

THEY HAVE A CATTED X-PIPE IN STAINLESS AND A FULL CAT-BACK SYSTEM IN STAINLESS, ALL MAGNAFLOW, AT A REALLY GOOD PRICE IF YOU HAVE THE COUPON CODE. THE COUPON CODE SEEMS TO CHANGE OCCASIONALLY BUT IT'S USUALLY GOOD FOR 25% OFF THE PRICE LISTED. EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS ON THE STAINLESS CATTED X-PIPE THAT COUPON CODE IS NOT VALID, I STILL GOT A DISCOUNT. ALSO, YOU GET FREE SHIPPING. I JUST BOUGHT BOTH THE CAT-BACK SYSTEM AND THE CATTED X-PIPE ALL IN STAINLESS AND IT CAME TO $704 DELIVERED, PLUS TWO TAXES BECAUSE I'M IN TORONTO, CANADA. DON'T KNOW WHAT TAXES YOU'D HAVE TO PAY.

I'm about to order from them too. Also want to try the Magnaflow catted X. Contacted them and got a response pretty quick and seem willing to work with the buyer. Still won't be as low as your price, but oh well. Had a off-road H-pipe on my last 5.0 along w/2 chamber mufflers. Sounded good, but got tiring when stuck in traffic and sometimes got unwanted attention from law enforcement when they heard me coming - driving normally, mind you.

IMO, there are better cams out there than the Ford "alphabet cams" for not that much more money. Would really like to try a FTI custom grind though $$$.

I know I may be late to this party, but I ran BBK LT's on my '87 GT, and now on my current fox I am running MAC ceramic-coated equal length shorty headers, which I really like. They were $300 new from the speed shop nearby. Fitment was easy (the only thing I had to do was loosen the motor mounts before installation)

Just finished my exhaust, went with.....

BBK shorty ceramic headers
BBK off road H
Flowmaster midpipes.

Sounds awesome, I finally have that 5.0 sound I wanted.

Well the parts are here and I went with

Pacesetter LT headers jet coated
Pacesetter off road H
Magnaflow cat back

But if I had gone shorties I would have gone with your exact setup.

I'll let you know what I think when I get them in everyone.

I'm running BBK shorty's, BBK x-pipe & turbo mufflers with 2 1/2 pipe. Not loud at all. Suits my old age just fine.

I just finished my exhaust on my 92 LX.

I have

BBK ceramic shorties
BBK off road H pipe
Flowmaster American Thunder mufflers.

I love the sound!! Sounds like a 5.0, it was too quiet stock.
Its loud when you want it to be, and sounds good going down the road.
Its not loud when you are cruising.
