what I've been up to lately
what I've been up to lately
It's been a busy few months lately. And after taking a short break I'm back in the Mustang game
so I sold my old '96 Cobra and bought this '90 LX back in March.

The LX was a runner, pulled great and had decent black interior but the more I digged, the more the past was reveal. Cancer was a big issue on the cowl and the floorpans, not to mention some heavily deformed floorpans and frame rails. I decided to cut my losses and get rid of the LX and picked up a '98 F150. Good solid truck, being non-PI it was definitely weak. I bought it for $3k and it needed some work, an exhaust manifold stud was broken off in the head, had a misfire on #7 and a rear main leak, interior was trashed from off-roading and being a beach truck.

2 weeks ago I got an offer for a trade. The car was an '89 coupe, ex 4-banger with a V8 swap. The guy needed a work truck desperately since his was totalled. So I went thru and now I'm back in a better fox than before.
So here is the new project:

1989 coupe. Blue on Blue interior. Originally a 2.3L/5-speed car. 193k on body, 7k on new combo
- 10:1 306, JE pistons, Eagle rods
- F303 cam
- GT40 iron heads
- Trick Flow intake
- 70mm TB
- Full exhaust (shorty headers, O/R H, 2 chamber Flows)
- 3.55 gears
- MSD ignition
- Oil filter relocation
- Battery relocation
- 4-lug Cobra R reps
she does need work but the body is largely cancer free except for some surface. Despite being blue, the interior is clean and not a rip on the seats. In the coming months, A/C will be re-added to the car (a must here in Florida), the window moldings and weatherstrips will be replaced, body primered and windows tinted. Eventually the interior will be swapped for black and the body painted Blue Flame from the current F-150 line

One of my biggest regrets was selling my mint stock '89 black 5.0 notch because it didn't start when I got back from vacation. (It needed an ignition module) I say stock, I bought it stock, I put on Flowmasters, CAI and full Maximum Motorsports suspension in prep for more power. Then I got stupid and sold it for $4000. Oy vey. Don't sell that!
