How much of a pain in the *** is it to replace the stripping around the sunroof?

 

you'll need to remove the glass from the opening then it's just a process of taking the top up and off (Flip the buckle down from the locked position, and then sqeeze the two silver chrome levers together that will release the locking buckle from the roof and you can lift the glass out from the top).start at the back of the sun roof where you will see where the factory put the 2 halves together. pickup one side and lift upward all the way around the sun roof opening until all the weather stripping is remove from the roof. Install the new weather stripping by placing one end of the new weather stripping into the back of the sun roof and push the groove of the weather stripping into the metal of the roof.cut off excess weather stripping and make the 2 ends touch as close as possible.

So do I need to take the sunroof completely off? If so, do I need to take headliner out to get to the sunroof?

 

where did I say anything about the headliner or taking the sunroof off?

If this is not a Ford factory roof then I cannot help since aftermarket would be different. The factory roof is done like i stated remove the glass it does come out. there are two seals sunroof glass / sunroof body. The sunroof body is done with step I gave above and the glass once is out is pretty much the same a channel runs around it.
