water pump belt

does anyone know if there is a way to run a smaller belt on an 89 5.0,to bypass the smog pump and a/c,with out buying the smog and a/c eliminator kit.
and if there is a way does anyone know the part number or the measurements of the belt?

You can do that but I dont know what the mesurement would be. You could use a peice of string and get a ball park estimate and try belt sizes near that. Most of the foxes Ive seen bypass the smog pump (our 93 does that.)

You can kinda see that it bypasses it in this pic.

watch out for belt rub when bypassing the a/c

I thought they sold short belts so u could do that??

Don't bother bypassing the A/C...it is only an idler pulley unless you are using it so you will gain nothing by bypassing it. Even if you have functioning A/C it automatically cuts out at WOT and shuts off turning back into an idler.
