I have an 86 gt with an aod ...the problem is that when I put it in overdrive it revvs up and takes a minute to go into gear but if I manually shift it it does fine goin into od..but it bogs goin from 2nd to 3rd...I don't know much about trannys but the fluid level is fine..had a friend tell me that it may be the stall converter...I think it needs a rebuild...just wondering what is going on and what needs to be done.?any help would be great...

 

It can be the stall converter or the bands for the gears being loose. The quickest and prolly cheapest way is to change the stall converter and see if that will help. Also it could be a solenoid too.
